Interesting enough, I checked the local Chamber of Commerce about this festival, and surprise, surprise (!!!) it isn’t listed on their calendar, although they do have a “Homecoming Festival” that same weekend, LOL. http://salemar.com/events.htm
Also, we have had some discussion about taking group one-day field-trips to two sort-of-nearby places of interest—Heavener, Oklahoma and Poverty Point, Louisiana. Each location is 3-3 ½ hour drive in each direction, so a round-trip with several hours to explore would be a long day but very do-able from the Texarkana area.
